Innards are an important component of the BARF diet, including the kidneys. Our beef kidneys, like most innards, are rich in vitamins, particularly the B vitamins, as well as important minerals and trace elements. As they are quite lean, they are easily digestible and often enjoyed by cats. If your pet is skeptical about kidneys, you can lightly simmer them to increase acceptance. Normally, this will enhance their willingness to eat them. Innards should definitely be included in your furry friend's bowl, but should not be overfed. One day of innards a week is enough, or you can supplement 10-15% of the daily meat portion with innards. Have you tried our beef innards mix yet? There you can find all the important innards in the right proportions. Alternatively, we also offer innard mixes from horse or lamb. Generally, if your dog initially does not take to raw meat, for example during a diet transition, you can introduce them to the food with a few tricks. Buttermilk or lard can work wonders here. After being gently processed, the kidneys are vacuum packed and frozen.
