To create a new meetup, click the green calendar icon at the bottom right in the meetup overview. On the next page, enter a title and select the activity you have planned (walk, playdate, dog sport, or other) and which dog age groups the meetup is suitable for. Now choose whether there are fixed dates for the meetup and, if necessary, add them using the calendar. Finally, decide whether it is a public meetup or if you want prior contact. Note: A meetup without a fixed date cannot be public.
On the next page, set the meeting point on the map. This will also appear in the meetup details. On the last page, provide a (preferably detailed) description of the meetup and upload suitable images. Once the meetup is created, all Dogorama members can see it.
Meetups without a fixed date are permanently displayed in the overview. Dog friends who want to meet you must contact you via chat first. This type of meetup is especially useful if, for example, you are looking for someone to walk with but are very flexible regarding day and time.
Meetups with one or more fixed dates are displayed in the overview with the day and, if available, the time. Once the last date has passed, the meetup automatically disappears from the overview.
Anyone can join public meetups. The interested person simply clicks the “Join meetup” button. This adds them to a participant list that only the host can see. The participation can also be withdrawn using the same button.
For non-public meetups, prior contact is required. The interested person can only participate if they have messaged the creator of the meetup in the chat. All further details are then discussed in the chat.
Depending on whether the meetup is public or not, participation works differently. For public meetups, click the “Join meetup” button or, if the meetup has multiple dates, the “Join” button under the respective date. You can withdraw your participation at any time by clicking the “Withdraw participation” or “Withdraw” button.
For meetups that require contact, you must first discuss the details with the creator. Simply click on “Contact”. This opens the chat and you can write to the creator. A link to the meetup is automatically attached to your first message, so the recipient immediately knows what it’s about.
You can add any meetup (except your own) to your watchlist. Open the meetup and click the gray star icon at the bottom right. If a meetup is on your watchlist, you will receive notifications and reminders via push mail. In the overview under “My meetups” you can always find your watchlist.
In the overview under “My meetups you’ll find all meetups (with fixed dates) for which you have registered as a participant. Once the meetup has passed or you withdraw, it disappears from the overview.
Meetups you have created yourself can be found in the overview under “My meetups. Meetups that have already passed are also displayed there. You can edit these and reactivate them by adding new dates, making them visible to other members again.
To delete your meetup, open the corresponding detail view and click the three-dot icon at the top right. There you can permanently delete the meetup. Any participants will be notified of the deletion.
